Aspirin in Skin Care

Aspirin in Skin Care

People use aspirin in skin care because aspirin is closely related to beta hydroxyl acid. Beat hydroxyl acid is called salicylic acid. The chemical name of aspirin is acetyl-salicylic-acid.  Salicylic acid is a common skin care ingredient used for acne treatment and prevention and exfoliation.

In addition to the exfoliation properties it also has anti-inflammatory properties. Many users claim it is very effective at treating and preventing acne. (Use only non-coated aspirin.)

The easiest way to crush the tablet is to hold it in the palm of your hand and add one or two drops of water, it will dissolve instantly.

  • Moisten one or two crushed tablets and use as a facial scrub.
  • Add crushed tablets to facial cleanser.
  • Make your own toner - mix several crushed tablets with water or witch hazel. You can also use ½ water and ½ vinegar.
  • Exfoliate your scalp by adding two crushed tablets into your shampoo just before using.
  • To use as a mask crush 3 or 4 tablets and mix with water, aloe vera gel or yogurt. Leave on until it begins to dry. Then massage it into the skin and rinse off
