Epsom Salt in Skin Care

Epsom salt in skin care is used as a treatment to relax, exfoliate and soften skin on the body (do not use on the face or neck).

Epsom Salt in Skin Care

Epsom salt is made from the mineral magnesium sulfate - which is also a sedative for the nervous system.

How to use Epsom Salt:

  • Add two cups to your bath for a relaxing soak.
  • Exfoliate dry skin with Epsom salt mixed with Vaseline or baby oil.  (This is used in many spas as a spa treatment.  Add scented oils to really pamper yourself.)
  • For a deep pore cleansing, mix ˝ teaspoon with your regular facial cleanser.
  • After showering, massage handfuls of Epsom Salt over wet skin to exfoliate the body. Many spas use this treatment.
  • Mix two cups of Epsom Salt with a few drops of fragrance to create your own bath crystals. Add a few drops of food coloring or 1/2 teaspoon of glycerin if you like. Store in an air-tight container, makes a great gift.
  • Soften your feet by soaking them in warm water and Epsom Salt. The salt will help to smoothen your feet, giving them a relaxed and refreshed feel.
