Organic Sunscreen

Looking for Organic Sunscreen? With the growing awareness of the dangers of too much sun exposure, more consumers are looking for a Natural Sunscreen that is safe and healthy. While tons of commercial products exist, there is a demand for something that's natural and protects the skin from the unhealthy effects of radiation.

Standard Sunscreen

While it might be convenient and cost-friendly, grabbing whatever SPF brand is on sale isn't necessarily a healthy practice. The very same product designed to protect you from harmful sunlight also has all kinds of chemicals. Ingredients like oxtinoxate and benzophenone are quite common in sunblocks, and these two ingredients are among others that have potential carcinogenic effects.

So by trying to avoid skin cancer you could be opening your body to alternative forms of cancer. Worse, since many people wear sunscreen into the ocean or lakes, we're transferring those chemicals back into nature!

The Natural Organic Sunscreen Alternative

Consumer awareness is a powerful thing. It's encouraged various manufacturers to design sun block treatments that have non-toxic ingredients. On the down-side, there is, of course, more than one company claiming to have the best, safest, and most natural combination for their organic sunscreen. So how do you know what you're getting? What is the Safest Sunscreen?

Always read a product's label. If there are ingredients you cannot pronounce, then it's probably not organic or natural! Unlike the FDA, personal care laws do not standardize the use of the words "natural" or "organic", meaning manufacturers can use them without penalty even if the sunscreen has petroleum products in it!

Recommended Products

The best UV Natural Sunscreen products I have found so far are called Green Screen.

Green Screen is a fantastic organic solution that is all natural and safe for even young children. Their company honors a "full disclosure" commitment to putting every ingredient in their products on the label and public website for all to see.

Green Screen is rich in vitamin E, a great antioxidant that nourishes your skin while the Zinc Oxide acts as an antifungal and preservative - giving this product up to two years of shelf life. Additionally Green Screen is cruelty free, and uses edible grade organic materials for components (no petrochemicals allowed).

Shop for Green Screen:
Green Screen Organic SPF 22 Tinted Sunscreen is my favorite because it is skin tone tinted. It is 86% certified organic, Made with 9 organic and natural ingredients, including 25% non-nanoparticle zinc oxide and iron oxide.
Green Screen Organic SPF 20 Natural Sunscreen is an excellent, safe and natural sunscreen, even for children and babies! It is made with 8 organic (86% certified organic!) and natural ingredients, including 25% non-nanoparticle zinc oxide.
Kabana Skin Care - see all of their wonderful, natural & organic skin care products.
