Retinol Lotion

Retinol Lotion is a good choice if you want to add retinol to you skin care regimen in a multi-purpose product that also provides moisturization. Lotion is thinner than cream and thicker than serum and is a good choice for normal to oily skin. You can select a "stand alone" lotion that provides retinol only, one that provides retinol along with other skin treatment products or one that doubles as a moisturizer. If you are using it as a day time moisturizer, look for one that includes an SPF, as retinol increases the skin's sensitivity to sun exposure.

Retinol

Also, if you are sensitive to retinol, a lotion or cream may be a better choice, as it may prevent the irritation and severe exfoliation that some users experience.

Many lotions that claim to include retinol do have have the proper packaging to preserve it. Retinol is destroyed by exposure to air and light - so the packining must be either an air tight opaque pump or tube. Jars or bottles will allow the product to quickly become worthless.
