Philosophy Skin Care

Philosophy skin care was put on the map years ago by Oprah & QVC.  Oprah named philosophy's Hope In A Jar as one of her favorite thing and when QVC introduced it to their millions of viewers, it became QVC's best selling skin care line.

Philosophy was created by Cristina Carlino, whose background was in creating skincare products for medical practices.  In addition to their products, many of which are based on the medical products that Carlino originally developed and based on science and research, the products all carry a positive message (or "philosophy", get it?) to encourage women to be positive and to feel good about themselves.

In addition to the normal selection of cleansers, moisturizers and eye creams, philosophy has a good selection of anti-aging treatments and products.  They also have a product line for acne, although it is best suited for adult acne.  They were among the leaders of the exfoliating, peeling, home microdermabrasion trend that helps your skin stay younger looking by removing the outermost layers & stimulating the skin to renew itself more frequently.

philosophy skin care products are often the "darlings" of fashion magazines, but they are popular with their customers as well.  In addition to having products named as Oprah's favorites, they have won numerous awards, including these Best of Sephora winners (voted by Sephora shoppers):

Philosophy is one of the few beauty companies that frequently have special bath & body products that contribute 100% of the gross profit from the sale of these products to charities.  Many of the products are specially made and some of the charities include the Women's Cancer Research Fund, the Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation, the Rainforest Foundation, the Joyful Heart Foundation, PBS and PBS KIDS.

In addition to skin care, philosophy has some cosmetic products and a very popular line of fragrances and bath and body products.
